August Firsty Friday, or, Firsty Friday Festival

As July #FirstyFriday comes around tomorrow I thought it was a good time to tell you about the August event, 7th to 9th at the brewery.

We go large for this one month and go all weekend open from 12 to 11pm Friday and Saturday and 12 to 5pm Sunday. There should be about 30 beers and ciders, I’m beavering away in the background putting a list together but some of the breweries should include Steel City, Founders, Magic Rock, Quantum, BlackJack, Waen, Axiom, Siren and we are adding to it all the time.  There will also be a fair selection of Offbeat beers too along with a keg bar for the first time ever.

The last two years we’ve charged a little more to come in and there have been festival glasses but this year, from feedback, it’s only going to be £2 to come in, no glasses to take home.  You don’t need to buy advanced tickets, it’s turn up and enjoy!

We do run a token system for this one weekend, maybe a bit of a pain for you but makes things sooooo much easier for us with the adding up.

There’s live music Friday night from the Malbank Muckers and on Saturday late afternoon from Baxter. Both a lot of unmissable fun!

Food will be coming from the pizza oven, Staffordshire Oatcakes and wood fired pizzas galore.

If you would like to help out we are always in need of extra hands to help serve, sell tokens, work the entry gate etc – possibly more this year than in the past as we unfortunately clash with setup with the Great British Beer Festival which a lot of my usual pool of helpers are involved with. Remuneration comes in the form of a free beer tab and getting fed on shift plus you can do as little or as much work as you want, we are grateful either way!

We do have a dedicated Facebook page for the event, which the beer list and other announcements will gradually get added to.

Oh and if you’re coming to #FirstyFriday in July find Michelle and get a token for a free half at the August Firsty Friday Festival!

Please invite everyone you know and share liberally, fingers crossed for better weather than we got last year!

Michelle and the Offbeat team x
